Bitcoin Holds Steady Near $85,000 as Crypto Market Stays Calm

Bitcoin held its ground near $85,000 on Sunday in quiet trading. The world’s largest cryptocurrency was priced at $84,912, up 0.33 percent over the last 24 hours.

The total value of all cryptocurrencies rose 0.42 percent to $2.88 trillion. But trading activity was thin. Total trading volume fell 36 percent to $198.92 billion, a sign that many traders were staying on the sidelines over the weekend.

Bitcoin’s share of the total crypto market slipped slightly to 59.17 percent. The coin traded in a narrow range between $84,512 and $85,021 during the day.

Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency, rose 0.65 percent to $2,694.33. Its total market value stood at nearly $329 billion.

There were small changes in the top rankings. Hyperliquid moved up to 7th place, pushing Zcash down to 8th. BNB gained 2.89 percent, while Solana rose 1.13 percent.

The biggest single mover of the day was Bitway, which fell 35.9 percent to R15.34, according to one market tracker. Overall, though, the market leaned green: out of 406 coins tracked, 255 were up over the last 24 hours.

Bitcoin’s total market value stood at $1.71 trillion, and its share of the whole crypto market slipped by a tiny 0.04 percent.

Data from market trackers shows most coins ended the day in positive territory. Out of 406 coins tracked by one service, 255 were up over the last 24 hours.

Analysts note that Bitcoin has been holding above the $84,000 support level. Many traders are watching the $87,300 area as the next resistance zone, with the psychological $90,000 mark beyond that.
