Airlines are pulling back from Gulf routes as regional tensions deepen, the fallout from the record Binance hack keeps spreading, and markets are sliding on a fresh tech selloff. Here is what changed on Friday, October 30.
Gulf flight disruption spreads as airlines extend suspensions
Singapore Airlines has cancelled its Dubai flights until February 28, 2027, citing the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, with full refunds offered to affected passengers. Air India and Air India Express have also extended their suspension of flights to Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam until November 14, offering free rebooking until November 29 or a full refund. The moves show how the regional disruption is widening beyond shipping and into commercial aviation.
Binance hack fallout: World Liberty freezes $27 million linked to the breach
World Liberty Financial has frozen $27 million in its USD1 stablecoin and 48 million WLFI tokens, worth around $2 million, linked to the Binance breach. Binance co-founder Yi He thanked World Liberty and Ripple, which together have frozen roughly $200 million connected to the theft. Binance has also delayed the spot listing of PREDICT, which had been due on October 30, until further notice, while withdrawals remain on track to resume gradually within about 45 hours and deposits continue normally.
Tech selloff deepens as Bitcoin and Ether slide
Bitcoin fell to around $77,427, down 3.53 percent, holding above its intraday low of $76,500, while Ether dropped 5.41 percent to about $2,183. The slide came as an AI and technology selloff deepened, with Amazon down 6.25 percent and Intel down 26.24 percent on earnings, and Nasdaq futures off 2.19 percent. Brent crude rose to about $117.76, with its December contract expiring on Friday, while gold slipped below $4,000 to $3,997.39.
Exchange watch: no new delistings, key dates approach
No new spot exchange delisting announcements emerged in the latest check. Traders should still note the imminent dates on the watchlist: Coinbase converts VELO on November 2, just three days away, and Coinbase's STG and PYR conversions plus Bitvavo's PTB delisting fall on November 6. Comments on the USTR's proposed shipping-fee suspension were also due on Friday, October 30, though the extension to January 9, 2027 remains a proposal only.
Market snapshot
Bitcoin traded near $77,427 (down 3.53 percent) and Ether near $2,183 (down 5.41 percent), Brent crude stood near $117.76 with the January contract around $112.50, and gold traded just below $4,000 at $3,997.39, as risk appetite faded across equities and crypto alike.
