Top World News — October 4, Morning

Good morning — here is the world news digest for Sunday, October 4. Institutional buyers are back in crypto in a big way, OPEC+ producers are meeting today with oil prices elevated, Brazil heads to the polls, and a deadline in Gaza is approaching.

Institutional crypto buying returns in force

US spot Bitcoin ETFs took in roughly $2.4 billion last week — the strongest weekly inflow since October 2025 — pushing year-to-date flows back into positive territory. Strategy bought Bitcoin two weeks in a row, the first back-to-back buying streak since June, taking its holdings to a record 847,666 BTC. Strive added $94.5 million in BTC (over 27,400 BTC in total), and Goldman Sachs is moving its $100 billion Treasury fund deeper into crypto infrastructure via Lynq. HBAR jumped about 40% on the IBM partnership narrative plus a pending HBAR ETF. Bitcoin traded near $84,800, with single-day inflows of $195.6 million into IBIT and $29.3 million into Fidelity’s fund.

Oil in focus as OPEC+ meets; Brazil votes; Gaza deadline looms

Seven OPEC+ members meet today, with no decision published yet; the expectation remains that November output targets stay unchanged. Brent traded in the $102–106 range ahead of the meeting. Brazil votes today in the presidential election, with first-round results expected after about 1:00 AM PKT Monday. The deadline set by Trump for Hamas to accept his Gaza plan falls at 6 PM ET Sunday (3:00 AM PKT Monday), with no new moves from either side since Friday’s in-principle response. No new China–UK or China–USA tariff moves were reported.

Market snapshot

Bitcoin held flat near $84,800 and Ethereum near $2,680, with total crypto market capitalization around $2.89 trillion. No new crypto regulatory moves were reported. Oil remains the key watch as the OPEC+ decision lands.
