JD.com’s UK shopping platform JoyBuy has signed its first dedicated warehouse in the Northwest of England. The company has taken a 309,663 sq ft unit at Omega, Warrington, on a 10-year lease.
The deal was reported by Logistics Matters on 12 October 2026. The unit, known as Omega Loop, sits on the 760-acre Omega site near Warrington town centre. It has direct access to Junction 8 of the M62 and the M6/M62 interchange.
The building itself has 292,108 sq ft of warehouse space with 15-metre eaves, plus offices and a separate transport hub. It holds a BREEAM Excellent rating and an EPC A rating. JoyBuy is already recruiting staff for the site, from inventory supervisors to transport planners.
What this means for JoyBuy’s UK network
A Northwest hub fills an important gap. JoyBuy launched in the UK in March 2026. At launch, the company said its same-day delivery network could reach 17 million consumers across six areas: Greater London, Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham, Oxford and Cambridge. Those figures were reported by The Grocer and The Times at the time.
Note: that 17-million figure was the company’s own launch claim. It did not come from independent research. The Warrington lease is the first independently reported hub signing in the Northwest.
Why warehouses matter for fast delivery
Same-day delivery only works if stock sits close to customers. One giant warehouse cannot serve the whole country in hours. A network of regional hubs holds the most popular items near big cities, and software sends each order to the nearest hub with stock.
The Warrington site puts JoyBuy within easy reach of Manchester, Liverpool and the wider Northwest — one of the UK’s biggest shopping regions.
What it means for UK shoppers
- Faster delivery in the Northwest: a local hub should mean quicker dispatch for nearby postcodes.
- More competition: another well-stocked rival keeps Amazon and the supermarkets honest on speed and price.
- Check your postcode: “same-day” always applies to selected postcodes and order cut-off times — check before you rely on it.
What it means for eBay sellers
Why it matters for sellers: a faster, better-stocked JoyBuy raises the bar for UK delivery expectations. Buyers who get used to same-day elsewhere punish slow dispatch with neutral feedback and returns. Practical steps: keep dispatch times honest in listings, use tracked 24/48 services in competitive categories, and watch JoyBuy as a possible sourcing channel for fast-moving goods.
What to watch next
Three things will show whether the expansion is real: more hub signings beyond Warrington, the warehouse space actually leased (not just planned), and whether delivery promises hold during the Black Friday–Christmas peak, when every network is stress-tested.
